In case you still haven't know about it, the Pantone colour of the year 2018 is the pretty
Ultra Violet! So
Caffe Bene has came out with a seasonal menu of
Ultra Violet desserts in their menu!
The bloggers from The Butterfly Project were honoured to be invited to try out these series of purple desserts at one of their branch in 1 Utama Shopping Mall (Old Wing), and they call this the
Ultra Violet Party!

If you never heard about
Caffe Bene, it's a coffeehouse chain with a relaxed European vibe and a menu of sweet treats and sandwiches originated from Korea. They serve coffee made from the world's best seasonally harvested fresh coffee beans to ensure you enjoy a truly exceptional cup of coffee. They started their first store in April 2008 and has consistently been held forth as the best coffee brand in Korea.

And of course, all of us were required to dress up in purple to match the theme of the party!

Capturing the essence of Ultra Violet, Caffe Bene went all out in this seasonal series of menu, offering 4 NEW Seasonal Items which consist of
Purple Sweet Potato Bingsu, Latte, Frappeno and Waffle. One of their
latest seasonal Gelato (ice-cream) Flavour - Purple Sweet Potato was included in this series as well, and you can request to buy only the gelato itself!
Even though Caffe Bene sounds like a coffeehouse, their all time favourite item from their customers in Malaysia is none other than the
Bingsu. Hence you'll always see it in most of their seasonal menus.

ULTRA VIOLET SWEET POTATO BINGU | MYR 29.90
This ultra violet icy treat built up with layers of shaved ice, purple sweet potato milk base, crunchy granola, bouncy agar jelly and topped with their seasonal Ultra Violet Sweet Potato Gelato. Dig into a generous portion of Purple Sweet Potato paste; making this a delightful treat from start to finish.

Do you know the real way of eating Bingsu? A lot of their customer couldn't enjoy much of their bingsu just because they didn't
mix the whole bingsu from top to bottom! Use the spoon to press the gelato down into the cup and mix everything together, and you'll get something like this:

If you're not a shaved-ice person, try out their authentic Belgian
waffle!
ULTRA VIOLET SWEET POTATO CREAM WAFFLE | MYR 18.90
Vibrant purple sweet potato paste layered on top of Caffe Bene signature Belgium waffle (Plain/Walnut), crunchy granola, topped with seasonal purple sweet potato gelato and finishing it up with some purple sweet potato powder.

Of course, a sweet beverage is a must in the series, and this time they have
Frappeno and
Latte (hot/cold).

The perfect icy drink for a hot summer day! Ice blended purple sweet potato frappeno, topped with whipped cream and sprinkle of purple sweet potato powder for that finishing touch.
And last but not least..
ULTRA VIOLET SWEET POTATO LATTE HOT/COLD | RM14.90
Smooth, thick and creamy purple sweet potato latte � best enjoyed either hot or iced.

My personal favourite item in this Ultra Violet seasonal menu is the Waffle! I am always a fan of waffle topped with ice-cream, and their sweet potato paste did not disappoint me! The Sweet Potato Gelato is also recommended cause it taste great, better than the Frappeno & Latte in my opinion, so the whole thing is actually a perfect combination for me.

I actually prefer the food dessert than the drinks. The bingsu is fun to eat cause you can taste a few different thing in a spoon, but somehow I hope the shaved ice can be shaved even more to be make the texture softer.
Overall I would rate this series an average of 6/10. It's not bad, taste is special cause you don't really see much sweet potato flavour desserts out there, and I love the waffle and bingsu, but the drinks are not for my taste. But I still recommend some of my friends to try out the waffle.
Note that the Ultra Violet series is a seasonal menu and they are
only available until 15 April 2018, and it's only available in Malaysia so better
